27th International travel show MITT will run offline. Press release

On 16-18 March 2021 MITT will open the season of tourism exhibitions in Russia. This year, the 27th International Travel and Tourism Trade Show will be held for the first time at Crocus Expo.

From year to year, MITT brings together hundreds of countries and regions, and thousands of destinations, allowing one to travel around the world within the exhibition venue. Despite the current difficult situation with international travels, MITT will be held offline and will traditionally feature a variety of exhibitors. Exhibitors from abroad, unable to come to the exhibition for objective reasons, invited the employees of their Russian tourism offices to participate, because one cannot miss MITT, the leading international tourism event!

Exhibiting at MITT 2021 will be: Turkey, Greece, Abkhazia, Maldives, Catalonia, Malaysia, Nicaragua, Cuba, Thailand, Montenegro, Israel, Bulgaria, Saxony and Albania, and the city of Alma-Ata. The stand of Armenia will feature more than 20 companies, and Belarus, traditionally popular among Russians, will come up with an expanded exposition in response to the growing demand. Among the international exhibitors are tour operators from Kenya, Madagascar, Peru, India, Latvia, Italy, Chile, and other countries.

A separate hall will be dedicated to the exposition of the regions of Russia. In the last year, the tourist flow to the regions has significantly increased, which could not but affect the composition of the Russian exhibitors. For example, the Altai Republic has increased its stand almost fourfold. Some regions of Russia will take part in MITT for the first time, including: the Republic of Tyva, Omsk, Ivanovsk, Samara and Saratov regions, Bryansk region. Only at MITT, the Far Eastern Federal District will be represented by the Republic of Buryatia, Kamchatka and Primorsky Territories, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Sakhalin Region, as well as the Trans-Baikal Territory, which is participating in MITT for the first time. The Irkutsk Region will present recreation on Lake Baikal, and Norilsk and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District will acquaint visitors with Arctic tourism. The North Caucasian Federal District at MITT will be represented by Chechnya, Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia and the Stavropol Territory. Also confirmed their participation in the exhibition: Tyumen, Voronezh, Kursk, Nizhny Novgorod, Oryol, Kaluga, Tula, Novgorod, Magadan, Ryazan, Volgograd, Ulyanovsk and Kaliningrad regions; Tatarstan, Adygea, Karelia, and the Komi Republic; Krasnodar and Perm Territories, Rostov Region and Rostov-on-Don, Moscow Region, Moscow and many other regions.

According to an annual tradition, the participating regions submitted their own videos to the Russian Regions Video Competition: voting for the best video is open on the MITT website until 15 March. The awards ceremony for the winners of the competition will take place on 17 March at the exhibition site.

Tour operators TUI, ART-TOUR, Kartazh Travel, Ost-West, Petrotour, Nevsky Seasons, Profkurort, Grumant, and Tari Tour confirmed their participation in MITT. Technologies in tourism will be presented by TravelLine, Sirena-Travel, Edelink, the reservation service Bronevik, and ITSpecial. Also participating in MITT are: Krasnaya Polyana resort, cruise center Infoflot, AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines, Vityaz (an airline and travel operator of Kamchatka), cruise companies Doninturflot, Lenaturflot, and others.

For the first time, exhibiting at MITT will be: Onda Camping Village (Italy), TSENKI (Russian Cosmodromes), Boutique Hotel Severny Tsvetok (North Flower) (St. Petersburg), Adalya Hotels (Turkey), Adora Resort (Turkey) Selectum Hotels & Resorts (Turkey).

The exhibition will be supported by the Federal Agency for Tourism. Altai Krai will become the partner region of the exhibition for the sixth time. For the first time Sber will become the official partner bank of the exhibition; within the MITT business programme, Sber will present its products for the tourism industry.

Official events

The official opening ceremony of MITT will take place on 16 March 2021 at 11:00, in Conference Hall E (Pavilion 1). The organizers are pleased to announce that this year the official opening ceremony will be held with the participation of the Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation Zarina Valerievna Doguzova.

For the first time, the All-Russian Meeting on Tourism will be held at MITT. The closed event, organized by Rostourism, will take place on 16-17 March 2021.
On March 17, at 17:00 in Conference Hall E (Pavilion 1), the Awards ceremony will take place. The awards will be presented to the exhibitors, as well as the winners of the Russian Regions Video Competition.

Business programme

All three days of MITT will be accompanied by a comprehensive business programme that will touch upon the most pressing issues of the tourism industry. In total, the exhibition will host 14 events with more than 80 speakers.

Tourism Industry Leaders Forum

The central event of the MITT business programme, the 3-day forum will bring together heads of travel companies, hotels, and government officials to discuss strategic issues of the industry development. Key topics include:
  • the impact of COVID-19 on tourism;
  • strategy for the development of tourist business in 2021;
  • state regulation of the Russian travel industry;
  • problems and prospects for the development of domestic tourism in the Russian Federation.

MITT Academy Educational Seminars

A free educational program for representatives of travel agencies and other interested specialists will be divided into thematic blocks on the most pressing issues for travel agencies:

MITT Digital Tourism IT Conference

MITT Digital will feature leading Russian experts covering the most important events in the online travel industry, current trends, new business opportunities, and the future of the tourism industry.

MITT MICE conference

The MITT MICE educational programme will traditionally bring for dialogue suppliers and buyers of MICE services. In 2021, the conference attendees will also be able to vote for the best hybrid project born of the pandemic, following the presentation of several contenders in the PechaKucha format.

On March 18, 2021, supported by the Russian Union of Travel Industry, MITT will host the final competition of the MITT TRAVEL START Startup Competition in the field of tourism and hospitality. The winners of the competition will receive opportunities for the development of their projects, which they will present at MITT. In addition, a number of events will be held by the exhibitors in the conference halls of Crocus Expo.

Health & Safety

The organizers MITT paid special attention to the Health & Safety of exhibitors and visitors. At the MITT site, all requirements of Rospotrebnadzor and UFI will be met.
Arrival, access and registration procedures for exhibitors, contractors and visitors will be non-contact. Hand cleaners will be available in regular washrooms, and additional hand hygiene products will be provided at business venues, hall entrances and all high traffic areas. The exhibition venue will be cleaned daily, and the premises will be disinfected several times a day. Those without PPE and not observing the rules of hygiene will be denied access to the exhibition venue. All visitors will undergo a body temperature screening at the entrances. Those with fever will be isolated for emergency treatment.
