The Moscow International Travel and Tourism exhibition’s 26th edition turned out to be a huge success earlier this month.
Cementing its role as a B2B-only event, MITT 2019 hosted an expanded programme of industry events including brand new events:
- MITT 365 – Diversifying the Tourism Business Conference
- Tourism Business 2025-2030 Foresight Session
- Profiling the Russian tourist: an analytical session
- Enhancing the effectiveness of tourist information centres
Attendance at the business programme events was up 38% compared to last year’s event.
MITT’s exhibitors expressed their satisfaction with this year’s edition: “I found the show to be a surprise. MITT has a very good crowd, the people here know what they are doing and it makes our life easier,” said Mohamed Nisfer, Manager at Farhat Tours in Bahrain.
“This year has been successful, and we expected this – to work with professionals from all over the world. It’s very useful for us as a country that needs to improve its tourism,” B Kam Travel, Morocco, told us.
The partner country Bahrain joined the foreign exposition of the exhibition for the first time, having presented its hotels and host agencies to the Russian travellers. Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority and a member of the royal family, His Excellency Shaikh Khaled Bin Humood Al Khalifa made a speech at the opening ceremony. The exhibition not only attracted tourism industry professionals, on the final day, MITT was attended by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets and Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism Zarina Doguzova.
Thank you to all our exhibitors, visitors, and partners who made the show what it was. We look forward to seeing you again in 2020 when MITT moves to a brand new venue – Crocus Expo.
